Anti-Racism

Thank you for showing up.

As a white person, I recognize that I benefit from systems of white supremacy. Unless I am actively anti-racist, I am complicit in perpetuating these harmful systems. White supremacy is deeply woven into the fabric of our society and lives, and dismantling it requires consistent, conscious effort.

Anti-racism work is not just about external actions—it’s about the inner transformation needed to create meaningful, lasting change. There is an inherent connection between anti-racism and holistic well-being. When we commit to the inner work of unlearning racism, building awareness, and dismantling white supremacy within ourselves, we cultivate the empathy, compassion, and humanity needed to contribute to a healthier, more just world. This inner work is critical to achieving the outer change we seek.

We perpetuate white supremacy until we actively do the work. Silence and inaction mean that we support white supremacy. Every day, we must take responsibility for destroying and dismantling these systems. White supremacy is insidious—living and breathing within all of us, woven into every fabric of our lives. To challenge this, we must:

  • Unlearn racism and engage in uncomfortable, often difficult, conversations with ourselves and others.
  • Understand how white supremacy operates and how our lives uphold it.
  • Dismantle white supremacy within ourselves while calling in fellow white friends, family, and coworkers.
  • Learn from, listen to, support, and follow the leadership of Black people and People of Color who are guiding the way.

Keep an open heart. Cultivate fierce self-awareness and hold space with non-judgment. Take full responsibility, keep a student’s mind, and remain teachable. Check your ego. Approach this work with courage, humility, and vulnerability. Above all, be consistent.

Together, we can co-create the world we long for—one that honors the dignity of all people, nourishes our empathy, and restores our collective spirit.

Here you will find a curated list of resources—books, articles, trainings, educators, videos, films, podcasts, and organizations—focused on anti-racism for white folks. I recognize that compiling this list centers whiteness, which is itself a manifestation of the white supremacy we must dismantle. The list is the result of years of work, research, guidance, and anti-racism training from educators, leaders, and facilitators. It will continue to grow and evolve.

My intention is for this space to guide white folks to anti-racism teachers and leaders, so that we can step aside, elevate Black voices, and center the experiences of People of Color. I am indebted to every BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) educator, leader, and voice in this movement. I hope this is only an entry point into the necessary work we must do as we embark on the lifelong journey of anti-racism.

Feel free to share these resources with friends, family, and community.

Friendly Reminder

Keep learning! Everyday pick something to watch, listen, read, join, or follow.

It is your duty to educate yourself.

Seek to learn from Black educators and leaders in the anti-racism movement, with self-awareness and responsibility.

As white people we are going to fail and slip up many, many times. Keep moving forward, keep speaking up, keep showing up. Take responsibility, drop the ego, be humble, own it, and move forward.

Engage with your friends, family, coworkers. It starts with a conversation.
