Being pregnant you need to up your protein intake. I was not sure if I was getting enough daily for my sweet unborn baby and I wanted to make sure she was well nourished throughout pregnancy.

Ok, enough about protein powder. Here is my goto daily protein shake that is fully of anti-oxidants, thanks to the frozen wild blueberries, which are so good for brain health. As well as a healthy dose of heart healthy omega-3s and fiber from chia seeds and hemp seeds (both are also great sources of protein). The banana adds a bit of sweetness and the needed magnesium and potassium to battle those pregnancy leg cramps and constipation.

Protein Shake

  • 1 scoop of Ritual protein powder
  • 1 cup wild blueberries
  • 1 banana (green bananas have a lower GI index)
  • 1/4 cup chia seeds
  • 1/4 hemp seeds
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup ice

Mix all ingredients together in a blender. Layer the blender with liquid to solids for an easy mix. Blend on high until will mixed together. And enjoy.
